I highly agree t...I could go on all day about this. I highly agree that all of us need to actively seek to understand why we believe what we believe. It is so easy to get steeped in church tradition that you never question. Be it church jargon that isn't found in the bible (such as trinity), commonly held thoughts on scripture that don't match historic context, or getting hung up on what one particular translation says over another. These are all stances that people often take, and its ok to take them, but so few have any good backing for their stance, or even an idea of why they took that stance in the first place. Seeking truth in faith is not unlike seeking truth in science. It takes rigorous study and a willingness to accept that you may be wrong.
